Introducing Koinonia’s New Executive Director
My friends, Irma, had mentioned to me how much she enjoyed serving with KSC. Thank you so much for all the food you brought over to us. Thanks also for bringing the carolers, they brought a lot of cheer...thank you for the pretty poinsettia, too. Thank you so much for all that you have done and your kind thoughts you've brought in to my life. You all have made such a different in my days before now and in this move.
I can't tell you what it means to have His light shining in our home each time someone comes. The blesing gifts are such a thoughtful personal touch. I wanted to send a note to thank you so much for the Easter Lily plant, the sweet familiar hymn, the thoughtful egg with the prayer quilt, and the visit from the kindest Ann.
About the Koinonia Faith Home area
Nancy is the keeper of the lyrics for all the hymns we sing! We continue to minister to the residents with weekly cards, devotionals and letters. “When I finish writing and delivering my correspondence to the facility, I feel the Lord’s assurance that He still has a place for me to share His love, HIs Word, and His compassion.
My grandmothers were wonderful women who greatly influenced my life, but I was not able to be in Indiana to help them regularly as they entered their later years. Koinonia allows me to lavish on others the love and care I wanted to display to them. There is a reason that grandparents seem to be the most loved family members. They have been the foundation, the constant source of encouragement, wisdom and love to those who call them by the coveted title “grandparent”. They have done so much for their families, for our communities, our world and our churches. Being a Koinonia parent means you will be a part of an organization with very high standards and expertise in helping children in need.
Years of Serving Foster Youth & Families

I encourage you to partner with Koinonia Senior Care and help make a difference in the lives of those who have made a difference in all of our lives. I know it takes a lot of time, work, nad planning to do something like this.
Day Treatment’s goal was, and continues to be, to create a strong therapeutic environment to facilitate each child’s mental health healing in a daily structured setting. Our Day Treatment program has been recognized for its excellence and is highly regarded in our community for the outstanding services we are able to provide to significantly vulnerable youth and children. Since then Koinonia has served the Nevada community helping over 1000 specialized foster children. In 2006 Koinonia Foster Homes changed our company name to Koinonia Family Services, to better represent the other services our agency provides. In Nevada, you may run into both names…”Koinonia Foster Homes” and “Koinonia Family Services,” as we want to be sure we keep the great need for foster homes in front of the public eye.

A lot of it happens after the placement of your first child and then we go back and say, “Do you remember when we talked about this? In addition to therapeutic services, behavioral training and reinforcement, children are taught life skills such as age-appropriate grooming, self-responsibility, job skills, and educational skills. They are also provided recreational therapy opportunities which enhance perseverance, cooperation, team work, and resilience. All of these things combine to create a therapeutic environment which allows the children to grow into thriving young adults. In 2001, the State of Nevada asked Koinonia to start a Day Treatment program.
