Learning what to put on a seasonal home checklist is just one of many topics covered at the annual Fall Home Show — returning to Toronto’s Enercare Centre from September 30 to October 2 — where Spear will be joined in the DIY Centre by experts Mark Rason and Desta Ostapyk. Similarly, tuning up a snow blower now, before the leaves fall, is a lot easier than dealing with an issue when it’s minus zero degrees Celsius or below outside. “I’ve been in that boat where the snow blower won’t start and it ruins your day,” he adds. “It’s either cry now or cry later,” says Fall Home Show DIY ambassador Jordan Spear, a carpenter by trade. “You don’t feel like spending $100 to fix a snow blower when the sun is shining and the grass is growing, but it’s a lot easier now than later,” he says.
